Bug Description

Hello

I have a fresh install of Kubuntu 24.04 and I am having problems resuming from sleep. Here is the output of 'lsb_release -rd'.

Description: Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Release: 24.04

My system is fully up to date as of today. I am very unsure which package is the issue.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Set up multi-seat using loginctl. I have two seats set up with separate graphics cards. One is an nvidia GT710 the other and onboard intel graphics (i915 driver). For the nvidia graphics card I have tried the 470 drivers installed using ubuntu-drivers and the nouveau driver and it makes no difference.
2. Start up the sytem.
3. Send the system to sleep.
4. Press a key to resume from sleep.
5. What happens is that the screens come back on and for a fraction of a second I can move the mouse pointer, then everything freezes completely. The only think I can do from here is a hard reset.
6. I tried switching from sddm to lightdm and the behaviour is identical, so I'm guessing it's not the display manager that's at fault.

What I expected to happen: normal resume from sleep.

I also have Mint 21.3 installed and it does not suffer this issue, so I'm thinking it's not a hardware issue. I do wonder if it's an issue with the kernel.

Far below are last few lines from running 'journalctl -o short-precise -k -b -1'. I am no expert but it seems to me like there are no entries after the suspend.

I did also notice that the system froze a few other times at less predictable times since installing, but I'm not sure if that is related or not.

Many thanks for your help!
