Bug Description

Hello,

I want to fixing my disk , disk partition lost after using firefox and falcon browsers.

every time, I use firefox with any other browser , I get a problem in my system disk.

last problem, I can not access my main disk from liveCD. but I can access it by booting the system for some minutes only.

from LiveCD , it coming as new disk only. all data are lost.

I had Kubuntu 22.04 LTS. I was waiting to upgrade to 24.04 LTS , but it did not coming.

My ssd 2t.b. is out of service by this problem or virus?

I had like this before when using MS edge or chromiume with firefox too.

system is not stable with mounting effected ssd or just connecting sdd to motherboard.
it change sda to sdb or other like sdc ... .
also, can see ssd for some minutes in liveCD as new disk.
if booting to old system it run for some minutes before hanging, fschk is OK for some partitions of ssd.

ssd is new and under warranty.
my data are not readable for more than some minutes before system hanging.

testdisk running OK inside old system, but can not detecting partitions from liveCD.
gdisk too.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a "regular" (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

Hello, your logs are full of very unhappy messages. I'm hoping that this is the root of all your problems:

[ 1509.531045] usb usb3-port11: Cannot enable. Maybe the USB cable is bad?

but it's possible that your hardware is broken enough that this is just a bad guess.

I suggest finding someone to help you troubleshoot your problems with you, either from IRC or askubuntu.com or a local user group, etc.

Thanks
