Bug Description

Hello,
I downloaded an iso of the daily build of ubuntu 24.04 the sha256sum matched.

I tried burning it using brasero it said it was an invalid image, I tried another burner software and balena etcher same result.

Upon further investigation I could mount the exact iso with image writer and see its contents.

ended up using dd to sucessfully put the iso image on usb.

Which ISO did you download?
Does the same happen with today's ISO, i.e. 20240420?
Can you write the image to a USB stick?
If so, does it boot correctly?

Hi,

The iso I downloaded was Apr 11.

To date both my machines are on 24.04 via upgrade from 22.04 to 23.10
then to 24.04, direct upgrade from 22.04 to 24.04 failed.

I am not doing any further testing as i have some health issues to
attend to.

Ok, thanks for the reply and sorry to hear that it can't continue.

There will have been many ISOs issued since the one you used for your test and the ISO tracker shows many successful installations over the past few days.

Without further information regarding the failed installation and the upgrades directly from 22.04 to 24.04 there is little for anyone to work on so I'll close this as being 'Invalid'.

Thanks again for testing Ubuntu 24.04.
