Sudden Ubuntu 7.10 Shutdown without notice

Bug Description

I am running Ubuntu 7.10 Gutsy on a Dell Inspiron 1505 Core 2 Duo laptop with 2 GB RAM.
This is a dual boot with Vista. But I have very rarely used Vista after I installed Ubuntu.
Eveything seems to work excellent except that for some days Ubuntu suddenly shuts down the computer without any sort of error or notice.
I noticed it happening while I was working also. But I think it was because of Firefox 2.0.0.12.
Earlier it happened when the computer was idle and for some time the screen saver was running.
I don't have any Power management settings to shut down the system automatically. According to that setting, my system should never shutdown/suspend/hibernate.

Please help.
Thanks
