Bug Description

[Wishlist] technically you could say this is a wish list, but it's closer to a necessity. I need to be able to run server level software off Raspberry pi or laptop running and Ubuntu server image. These devices need to be placed in areas of the house that are difficult to get to (attic, eves, etc), so Wi-Fi is much preferred to running wires. However it is damn near impossible by current tools provided to get Wi-Fi working properly, much less picking specific bands and ensuring that it comes back up after every reboot.

The difficulty is going to start turning away a lot of hobbyists who are moving from using things like raspberry pi OS to more advanced systems like Ubuntu server. It would be a shame if they gave up in the middle because the project requires Wi-Fi and they can't get Wi-Fi to work on the server image. While it's understandable that you might point to the desktop image as a workaround, that's not a good solution as we all know don't install it if you don't need it, and that's especially true for security devices around the house. Ubuntu server properly hardened would be a far better tool, but you have to be able to configure it from the command line more easily.

Not just trying to spam you here, I really care about this issue and I think others do too.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1914843/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.
