I need to set up snd_hda_intel's custom pin configuration by using the /sys/module/snd_hda_intel/parameters/patch interface in order to get appropriate speaker volume on the laptop (Dell Vostro 5490). To achieve this I add the patch= parameter to the snd_hda_intel boot options. However, snd_hda_intel honors the patch parameter only if it does not load the SOF driver. To skip the SOF driver loading I add the dmic_detect=0 parameter to the snd_hda_intel. However, without the SOF driver the built-in microphone does not work. But when SOF driver is used snd_hda_intel would not process its patch= parameter. Moreover, it's not possible to reconfigure the PIN configuration after the SOF driver is loaded because an attempt to do this will just hang. So, it turns out that one cannot set the custom snd_hda_intel pin configuration when SOF driver is loaded. This looks like a bug because snd_hda_intel driver is loaded but it ignores the patch= parameter.
