WISHLIST: The Ubuntu menus have too many icons

Bug Description

The Ubuntu (and Kubuntu) menus have icons next to virtually every entry. Most human interface guidelines recommend only placing icons next to menu entries when the icon is instantly identifiable, i.e. the user can identify the menu entry using the icon faster than they would be able to read the text if the icon were not there. Perhaps it would be possible to cut back on the icons slightly?

In fact this applies to many (most?) Gnome and KDE applications.

Thank you for your suggestion. However, the changes you are requesting aren't really a bug and require more discussion, which should be done on an appropriate mailing list or forum. http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community/mailinglists might be a good start for determining which mailing list to use.
