keyboard not working after hibernate on ASUS LAptop

I have my ASUS laptop running with
uname -a
Linux xxx 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Tue Dec 18 08:02:57 UTC 2007 i686 GNU/Linux
and being able to do a hibernate. My problem is that when I want to resume from hibernate it seem to work fine, but I am not able to use the laptop keyboard anymore. no single key is working only the touchpad.

All I can do is a hard shutdown by pressing the powerbutton for 10 sec. The reboot afterwards will work fine with no problems.

Can be closed - upgraded to 8.04 LTS - no working on a couple of first tests.
