Bug Description
1. In a default install of Gutsy, enable NIS as slave and a client. Setup the NIS client to talk to the local server first and then to the master NIS server.
2. Edit the /etc/passwd /etc/nsswitch.conf. To start using the NIS. Restart X or GDM.
3. You will notice that the screen saver is launched with the correct timing, but the Power management settings aren't every taken into effect.
4. Login with the NIS user and credentials.
"xset dpms force off" continues to work fine.
Can some others confirm this? How can i debug the power management process? i.e Where can I see the OS trying to do a DPMS off?
