unable to install update after Hardy Heron ALTERNATE CD installation

I am unable to install any of the updates that the system indicates are available for the Hardy Herron Alpha 3 ALTERNATE CD installation after I perform the initial installation from the CD.

Additionally, the log file '/var/log/apt/term.log' and your '/etc/apt/sources.list' files may help us determine the root cause of this issue. Could you please add them as separate attachments? This no longer seems to be a problem when I installed Alpha 4.
