I can confirm this, I was just about to report the same problem. Switching back to "normal" visual effects gives me back my title bars immediately.

That seems an issue with the compiz window decorator

I have similar issue with an Intel 965 (Macbook Santarosa). Randomly the window decorator crashes and I have to go to the appeareance settings disable effects and re-enable it.

I have the same problem (using Nvidia GPU). When I enable visual effects the window decorations are gone.

Here's what I get when I run 'strace gtk-window-decorator --replace'.

I made a fresh install with alpha-6 snapshot and activated the Nvidia drivers through Administration/Hardware Drivers. Still the same problem: hardware acceleration works, compiz gets activated automatically after a restart, but window decorations are missing! I have to fall back to metacity in order to use hardy alpha-6.

In my opinion this is a major show stopper. Shouldn't importance be raised?

Those of you with nvidia are having different problems, this problem is that the decorations go away when changing from Normal effects to Extra effects, not go away when you turn on effects.

As for this bug, I cannot reproduce in up-to-date hardy, can you try again?

Same thing here and whats ever stranger is that the is that my terminal is just an all white box when visual effects are turned on. With Visual effects turned off terminal is fine and so are the windows decorations.

I already told you nvidia users have a different bug that has already been filed against jockey. Unless you are having problems with this using intel or ati do not reopen this bug.
