Ubuntu 17.10 Desktop installation: LVM missing on alternative partitioning

Bug Description

I'm trying to install 17.10 with dual boot with disk encryption and add lvm.

The issue is that if I do not want to erase the disk, I will not be able to get the LVM option at all.

After create the encrypted partition I do not have the option to use LVM (not even before).
I want to be able to create a swap and a root partition using lvm within the encrypted volume but there is no such option.

And I can't remove the windows partition, otherwise I can't upgrade the computer bios and firmware.

BTW, it is not a nvidia-graphis-drivers-384 package related. I did remove that but it seems it did not work :-/

Changed in nvidia-graphics-drivers-384 (Ubuntu):
status: New → Confirmed
affects: nvidia-graphics-drivers-384 (Ubuntu) → ubuntu

Workaround is to boot live image, open terminal and install lvm2 via apt-get install. Then start the installer.

I think you miss-understood me.
How can I install lvm2 if I can't finish the installation?

The installation it-self is the problem. it doesn't allow me to manually configure the disks in the way I want it!

Example with 3 disks:
- disk 1: windows and /boot
- disk 2: /
- disk 3: /home and swap

Requirements:
- dual boot
- full encrypted disks
- lvm to be able to set /home and swap in the same disk

* It would be the same issue if there was one or 2 disks!
Example, one disk with 3 partitions:
- windows
- /boot
- Encrypted partition
  - LVM:
    - /
    - swap

How I fixed it was to install lvm2 by jumping to a shell before stating the installation. Then the installation does finish.
