USB drive doesn't auto mount on startup anymore after Gutsy upgrade

Bug Description

I've got a Western Digital Passport USB drive that is connected to my computer all the time.
On Feisty, the drive was auto mounted on startup and was shown as a mounted USB Pendrive on the desktop and was listed under /media
Since my upgrade to Gutsy, the disk doesn't auto mount anymore, no directory is created under /media, but the nodes /dev/sdb and /dev/sdb1 are created.
If I type pmount /dev/sdb1, the drive is mounted, it appears on the desktop and /media/sdb1 is created

If I unplugged it and plug it back again, it is detected as a removable media, it is shown on the desktop and a directory is created under /media.

All my other usb mass storage devices connected after the boot are detected and working ok.
Only the ones connected at boot are not auto mounted.

I've added my drive to fstab to mount it at boot, but the problem is that once in a while (maybe 1 out of 10) the mount command seams to be issued before the disk being ready and so it doesn't mount (I'm not certain but I think that it's what happening)

OS: Ubuntu Gutsy upgraded from a fresh install of Feisty.
