No splash screen and no logout sound in Ubuntu Gusty 7.10 Final.

Confirm : no logout sound despite of appropriate configuration in sound preferences.

However Splash screen is present for me.

It looks like these are two different issues.

I can confirm both on my Samsung X20 XVM 1730 V laptop, though. I am running a fresh install of gutsy.

I should add that the login sound works without a problem.

Could the splash screen issue be related to bug #179071?

Can confirm this with a one day old hardy amd64 install on my Acer 5520 Laptop.

Your Ubuntu version is EOL on the desktop. Can you still reproduce this with a supported Ubuntu version. Thank you!
