Bug Description

This message pops up once I login to Ubuntu. The window says following

There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon

Somethings, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly

The last error message was:
failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-XstthmKyBI: Connection refused

GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.

This is a common problem:

I have it once in a while too.
I think it happens only on fast, dual core machines, but it's really ugly to have in a stable release. I would give it high priority.
Frankly it's strange that we don't have lots of bug reports opened about it.
