Bug Description
This message pops up once I login to Ubuntu. The window says following
There was an error starting the GNOME Settings Daemon
Somethings, such as themes, sounds, or background settings may not work correctly
The last error message was:
failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus-
GNOME will still try to restart the Settings Daemon next time you log in.

I use a HP dv6500z,
T7700, 2.4 GHz
Nvidia 8400 Graphics card, 2 GB RAM, DVD with lightscribe. Please let me know if need to add any more information.

I had the same error but the message was:
Failed to connect to socket /tmp/dbus- cYnvim2lVR: Connection refused
I use:
AMD Athlon 64x2 3800+
1GB RAM
motherboard ASUS A8R-MP
Video: ATI radeon X300 256MB PCIE (opensource driver)
