Bug Description

Trying to install Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on a Lenovo S21e.
When running the installer, I get the following error message:
"Error fsyncing/closing /dev/mmcblk0rpmb: Input/output error"

I've tried pressing "Retry" several times. Message was persistent.
When selecting to choose the whole drive, the partitions are not created automatically.

Any help/hints greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance :)

Maybe it's related, but when I choose to use the whole drive, auto-partitioning fails.
The installer just shows the existing Windows8 partitions. Pressing "Install Now" replies that a partition to install to must be chosen first.
I remember that there was auto-partitioning in that step. No manual interaction with partitioning needed.

I've now tried the "install alongside Windows" option.
That one seems to work.

^rooker,

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Presumably this problem was a one time occurrence and/or is no longer an issue? Can this bug report now be closed?

If we do not hear from you the bug report will close itself in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.

I think it's fine to close this issue, since we're already at 18.04 LTS.
