Bug Description

This concerns a dell XPS M1210.

When I close the lid, the screen blanks ( as configured by me ). However it never turns on again when I open it. Also the computer does not respond to to keyboard or mouse input but it continues to run and other activity does not hang. It is as if the input is blocked due to the computer does not realize the lid is open again.

Only solution to regain io is to turn of the computer by the 4-second power-button manouver.

Can you attach /var/log/acpid?

That might help diagnose what's going wrong here.

This is /var/log/acpid at the moment I closed the lid, opened it again, and then the reboot.

Actually switching to a terminal with crtl+alt+F1 and giving the command "sudo vbetool dpms on" turns the screen back on.
