Bug Description

upon a fresh installation of kubuntu 7.10 beta I get the following error when trying to update settings within the system settings menu:

Will not save configuration.

Configuration file "/home/user/.kde/share/config/kcmshellrc" not writable.

Please contact your system administrator.

checking the permissions on this file it is owned by root.root. Manually changing the ownership seems to resolve this problem. (sudo chown user.user kcmshellrc)

I can confirm this issue when upgrading from Feisty 7.04 to Gutsy 7.10. The workaround works great, thankfully.
