Bug Description

System:
- Fujitsu Lifebook S6410P
- Intel Core 2 Duo Centrino
- RAM: 2Gig
- kubuntu Gutsy Gibbon Tribe-5

During one of my tests I selected to hibernate the system after 1 minute of inactivity. This seemed to work. Well, the system shut down.

When I tried to resume the session I get the GRUB menu. After selecting Gutsy Gibbon option it slowly boots, shows the kubuntu logo, blanks the screen and then eventually boots and displays a number of messages. After a few minutes the system just shouts down. Have tried a number of times, including the recovery mode and they all eventually shuts down the system.

How can I get back into the gutsy desktop?

I'll also raise this as an error.
Thanks

To add further to the above. I get the following message:

unhandled inta bits x04000000

After some time I also get a series of messages appearing on the screen. All fairly like these:

usb_device usbdev2.1 PM resume from 0, parent usb2 still 2
usb_endpoint usbdev3.1_ep00 PM: resume from 0 parent usb3 still2

These two messages above, appear 6 or 7 times with a different USB number, ie 2, 3, 4,, 5, etc.

Thanks

I also get such messages when do hibernate on on IBM X40.
What is strange, that I hibernating and resuming works only when I keep moving mouse (pointing stick/TrackPoint) and press some keys in keyboard from time to time at hibernating and resuming process.

I am also experiencing something like this on my Thinkpad X60s. Mantas and Peter, do your computers have fingerprint readers? I get these error messages on the bus that the fingerprint reader is on. If you do, what model is it (lsusb will show it).

Here is the relevant lsusb output for me:

Bus 004 Device 030: ID 0483:2016 SGS Thomson Microelectronics Fingerprint Reader

Yes my machine does have a fingerprint reader. Looking at the output of the command you provided I get.

Bus 006 Device 003: ID 046d:09b2 Logitech, Inc
Bus 007 Device 003: ID 0409:005a NEC Corp.
Bus 003 Device 002: ID 08ff:2580 AuthenTec, Inc.
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0c24:000f Taiyo Yuden

None indicate fingerprint reader, but I guess that the AuthenTec maybe for the fingerprint reader.

sudo apt-get install uswsusp
sudo ln -s /sbin/s2disk /usr/sbin/

The Bug still exists. The screen is just black but not in hibernate mode and if i wanna come back to the system it dont do anything, the screen remains black, only a "hard reset" by use the power button solve the problem and start the Lifebook again.

After trying to resume, please hold down the alt+sysrq keys and at the same time, press the s key, followed by the b key. Please report whether that rebooted the system and then attach your /var/log/syslog.
