Bug Description

14.04 takes noticably longer to boot than 13.04 (pretty fast) and 13.10 (also slow)

Others have suggested that I try the proprietary drivers for my Radeon Graphics HD7340. I tried both of the proprietary drivers and they each took longer than the xorg driver (by a couple seconds).

I didn't find "bootchart", but did find and attach a new boot.log file after running pybootchartgui.

Sebastien,
Thank you for your assistance with this. I've attached the boot.log file to
the bug report.

Hi Christopher,

I followed the link and it looks like trying it would mean upgrading my OS?
I'll try it out as a dual boot but that will have to wait until this
weekend.

Thanks for following up on my bug report.

Hi Christopher,

I've loaded the 16.04 version that you pointed me to alongside my current
14.04 version. I videoed the booting process so that I could compare the
startup time. 14.04 took about 57 sec from GRUB to desktop display. 16.04
takes about 52 secs from GRUB to desktop display. That's still longer than
version 13.04 which I think was under 30 +/- sec to startup.

Now that I have it, I'll keep trying out 16.04. Thank you for giving me the
opportunity to be part of the testing.

Sincerely,

Felicia
