Cannot Format Flash Drive

Ubuntu 12.04 64
I can no longer Format Flash Drive when right clicking the drive in the launcher. Previous to the problem, I have done it numerous times. I tried a few other drives, and it would not work. Right clicking does not present the format option anymore. Just eject or safely remove.

1. connect flash drive, right click on the launcher symbol
2. option for formatting is shown
3. it is not

I think that's what daniell said :)

by the way, in my case, even the "safely remove" option is not shown, just "eject".
