Bug Description

Request for package: libtorrent-rasterbar

http://www.libtorrent.net/

C++ library that aims to be a good alternative to all the other bittorrent implementations around. It is a library and not a full featured client, although it comes with a working example client.

The main goals are:
    * to be cpu efficient
    * to be memory efficient
    * to be very easy to use

Dependency of qbittorrent (Bug #107930).

I found a version in Debian mentors:
http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/l/libtorrent-rasterbar/

I will wait for it and request a sync from Debian.

Greetings!

Are there really two separate libraries with the same name? From the looks of it, there are.. Very confusing. Sorry for closing the bug to fast.

Don't worry about that!

They are different libraries. This bug is related to libtorrent-rasterbar and the other package is libtorrent10.

Cheers!

I want to increase my packaging skills before to package something new; then, I'm assigning it to Nobody.

A package I'm making (the lobby client for the game Spring) needs this, and it really should be a proper package, so I'm going to pick up work on this. Miguel, if you have a start to a package worth sharing I'd like to see it, otherwise I'll need to make a package from scratch.

Also, it would be nice if Deluge depended on this library rather than include it statically, which it currently does.

Actually, it looks like someone already has a package up for sponsorship in Debian, should be easy to sync it in once it's sponsored and committed. http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/l/libtorrent-rasterbar/

Hi,
is there any available packages of libtorrent-rasterbar for Hardy?

I'll put the Debian package in the Spring packages PPA for Hardy since it needs it.

I've contacted the packager of libtorrent-rasterbar in mentors.

We expect to have it into the Debian archive soon and request a sync :-)

Putting libtorrent-rasterbar into Hardy isn't going to happen at this point, it depends on a libboost package that Hardy doesn't ship.

This package is now available in Intrepid so I'm setting this bug's status to Fix Released.

Our users still would like to use the functionality libtorrent-rasterbar adds to our application on hardy. Intrepid is still over 2 months away.
