I can't check/tick the boxes in the updates tab of the Software Center. I mean I do it, it asks for my password, and then automatically uncecks/unticks itself.

I am experiencing the same problem. If I open the Software Center > Edit > Software Sources > Updates
"Under install Updates from:" Im unable to select anything. The same happens if I try to do the same from the Update Manager.

I am too experiencing this. It asks for password and after entering it the previously ticked checkbox, unticks itself. All the checkboxes from the updates tab have the same behaviour.

After doing some testing I noticed that whenever I checked one, while it was showing as selected they were being added to the Other Software tab. This is also causing the error of duplicate sources when running sudo apt-get update.

I cant seem to be able to edit my comments, for the above, "I checked one, while it was showing as selected"

WAS NOT SHOWING AS SELECTED

I repeat,

WAS NOT SHOWING AS SELECTED

Have the same problem on two different machines running eOS. Check the selection, arrow appears as mouse pointer is placed on box, but as soon as mouse pointer is moved box un-checks itself.
