System won't boot after deinstallation of ntfs-3g

Bug Description

Because mount.ntfs kept my computer busy with high CPU load, and since I don't need access to ntfs partitions when I use ubuntu, I deinstalled the ntfs-3g package. The system will no longer boot and only gives me a black screen. Since an NTFS driver can not possibly be essential for operation of an Ubuntu linux system, such a system hang should not happen.

Unfortunately, since the system only gives me a black screen, I am unable to provide logs at this point, help with supplying them would be appreciated.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner.

You reported this bug some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time. Please note that you gave us no indication as to which release of Ubuntu you were using when you raised this bug report - something very necessary if a fix to a bug is expected.

Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported when using a currently supported version of Ubuntu? Please let us know if you do and in which one otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.
