Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

This is actually a feature request, and not a bug report. But I couldn't find any settings for feature requests.

Could the OpenChange Evolution plugin be packaged for Ubuntu?
 http://www.openchange.org/

This is a FreeBSD licensed native MAPI connection to the exchange server.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you? Thanks in advance.

Checking the contents of both -plugins and -plugins-experimental for evolution I did not find OpenChange.

Evolution does not operate correctly with Exchange 2007+. This package should fix that incompatibility. Hoping this can make it into Intrepid Ibex

This is very important. Unfortunately Evolution's exchange connector is very buggy and with Exchange 2007 things get worse. This is a project which brings native Exchange support to Evolution as well as KDE.

This would allow more people in corporate environment to switch to Ubuntu without such ugly solutions as trying to run Outlook in wine or in a virtual machine.

This Debian bug is about openchange, not about the openchange evolution plugin.

Then why is the title "Package the OpenChange plugin for evolution". The plugin is still missing from the distribution.

The OpenChange plugin for Evolution is called evolution-mapi.

It is already in Jaunty Universe.

Thanks Andrew. I found it. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work. But that's a different problem. ;-)
