Bug Description

I reported the bug at http://bugs.kde.org/ [1]. They asked me to file a bug here in order to suggest to update the X server "to a recent 1.13.x point release or at least pull in the fix for https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56649" (see comment #9).

This fix is mainly important for https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=310317 - the xserver bug may also help trigger the crash bug linked above. Ubuntu 13.04 has sufficiently new xorg-server packages to have the fix, it's just 12.10 that needs attention.

Arne Henningsen, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.

This issue has sat with a status of 'Incomplete' for more than eight years without a response to comment #2 so it is being closed as 'Invalid' although it may well have been fixed.

Please feel free to re-open this bug report if this is still an issue when using a currently supported release of Ubuntu and tell us in which release you still experience this issue.
