Bug Description

In Xubuntu 12.10 when launched with Pepper flash Chrome 24.0.1312.56 produces a crash report in /var/crash and does not show up. Here is the command line:

/opt/google/chrome/google-chrome --ppapi-flash-path=/opt/google/chrome/PepperFlash/libpepashplayer.so --ppapi-flash-version=11.5.31.137

The only diagnostics available is in apport.log:

ERROR: apport (pid 15417) Wed Jan 23 21:50:08 2013: called for pid 1, signal 4, core limit 0
ERROR: apport (pid 15417) Wed Jan 23 21:50:08 2013: executable: /sbin/init (command line "/sbin/init")
ERROR: apport (pid 15417) Wed Jan 23 21:50:08 2013: is_closing_session(): no DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS in environment
ERROR: apport (pid 15417) Wed Jan 23 21:50:08 2013: apport: report /var/crash/_sbin_init.0.crash already exists and unseen, doing nothing to avoid disk usage DoS

Without path to plugin Chrome runs without problems (and does not play flash, of course).

uname output:
3.5.0-22-generic #34-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jan 8 21:41:11 UTC 2013 i686 athlon i686 GNU/Linux

Attached is the crash file

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1103844/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to help make Ubuntu better. However, it seems that you are not using a software package provided by the official Ubuntu repositories. Because of this the Ubuntu project can not support or fix your particular bug. Please report this bug to the provider of the software package. Thanks!

If you are interested in learning more about software repositories and Ubuntu the following pages should be informative:
