Bug Description

I upgraded from 6.10 to 7.04.

After upgrade, login to my NIS-Useraccount using X was very slow. Any app reading user config on my NIS-homedirectory had startup times from 15 seconds to 10 Minutes. After toying a little bit around and installing NIS-Cache I restarted. Better performance but still slow. Any app trying to read from NIS took 15 seconds to 2 Minutes to startup.

After a fresh install of 7.04 I still experience this problem. I can reproduce it, using strace I can see where each program (like thunar, firefox, thunderbird, opera, open office) is hung up, doing nothing for 10-15 seconds, but none of the apps is hanging at the same system call. They even read without problems several files from NIS before stopping their work. Some Problems stop from doing anything several times (for example firefox).

CPU-Usage is near to 100% idle during hang up of the apps, same for network-traffic ...

I attach a script-record of a thunderbird start as an example. I typed something to show the place, where thunderbird hangs for 15 seconds. After closing thunderbird, I startet thunar. Thunar seems to cache something, it started with now problems, as I already started it once before. This is reproducable for thunar too. After reboot thunar has a slow start too.
