[needs-packaging] Additional FUSE filesystems

Currently in Feisty there are some very useful FUSE filesystems like: sshfs, fuseiso (although the latest), encfs, ntfs-3g,...

However there are others which I also find useful and I hope they will be included in gutsy:
- fusecompress: like encfs, but files are not encrypted but compressed
- wdfs: mount webdav (even with subversion) as local file system
- kio fuse gateway: mount kioslaves with fuse
- gnomevfs2 fuse: mount everything gnomevfs understands with fuse
- wayback: user level versioning system
- funionfs: unionfs for fuse
- ZFS fuse: implementation of Zetta File System for linux using fuse
- beaglefs/trackerfs

I would also like ZFS support in Gutsy, preferably native support (after a package install if needed) but FUSE support would be a good start.

Native support for ZFS in kernel is impossible due to licensing reason (CDDL is incompatible with GPLv2), at least for now.

I'd like to second support for wdfs, specifically. When wdfs is installed, Tomboy 0.7.3 allows you to specify a WebDAV share to use for synchronizing your notes. Since this feature will be available in Gutsy, it would be awesome if there was an Ubuntu package for wdfs in Gutsy, too.

ZFS native support would be best, especially boot capability, if not that, then a very easy implementation of ZFS using fuse should be included.

ZFS-fuse currently has some issues which preclude using it in a production environment - in particular, since it can't sync individual pages to disk, it can't ensure data consistency in the event of an improper shutdown.

Seconding that. It's a bit surprising that tomboy suggests us to use wdfs, but that there is no package providing it :P

Each of these requests would probably be a separate package so this bug would benefit from being broken up into separate bug reports.

I would like to propose that WebDAV is prioritized since Tomboy notes gives error messages when trying to use an existing webdav server (and the error messages isn't very easy for a user to understand).

For what it's worth, starting with the upcoming Tomboy 1.0, it will generally be recommended to use online services like Tomboy Online (not yet released, give it a month or so) and Ubuntu One (not yet supported, the Ubuntu guys are working on it for 9.10 Karmic) for note sync.

Of course, the existing options won't go away, but we think they are not the best options for the vast majority of users, and I would guess that given this the Ubuntu folks won't see Tomboy's webdav sync as a huge priority for them to support.
