Confirmed here on:

Temporary fix is, from forums:
The really simple solution for now is to replace your initrd.img-2.6.20-14-386 which is located in the /boot folder with the one that's marked as initrd.img-2.6.20-14-386.bak (the backup you replaced with the earlier upgrade).

Hi,

This has happened to me too. I am using a MSI K7N2 Delta 2 mother board.
I haven't been able to any of the debug output from the computer.

I am using initrd.img-2.6.20.150-generic

Any help with resolving this would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks,

James

Hey would like to thank you guys for adding the temporary fix. Thought my hard disk was HOSED. Using a Dell Inspiron 530 and the rename work-around worked nicely. Will now back-up files and re-install the distro. Thank you.
