Bug Description
Ubuntu 11.10 works OK. I downloaded 12.04 using the software updater.
HP Compaq with Intel Core 2 cpu, 6300@1.86 Ghz x 2
graphics card unknown - built into HP motherboard.
Ubuntu 12.04 screen was initially fine, then became unstable. Several reboots and still unstable.
Display was not stable enough to change from 1024 x 768 (4:3) for lower resolution.
Sceptre 24 inch LCD display using VGA port
Removed 12.04 pending bug fix
My E-machine AMD 64 also has trouble on 12.04 with display to a 17" E-machine LCD using VGA port, dark screen during boot with "frequency out of range" on display. It works ok on old 15" CRT display, but boot display letters are so small that I can't read them.
