Can not change sound volume on Macbook Pro using headphones

Bug Description
You can not the Master volume on a Macbook Pro if you have headphones plugged in. The sound level will change if you are only using the built-in speakers. I'm running Feisty 7.04 beta on the following system:
Machine Name: MacBook Pro 15"
Machine Model: MacBookPro1,1
Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
Memory: 1.5 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
