Thank you for taking the time to make Ubuntu better.
I asked to the original Debian maintainer if he is going to package also this version.
Now I'll wait some time for his reply, and (in case) I'll ask for packaging.

This bug is tagged needs-packaging which identifies it as a request for a new package in Ubuntu. As a part of the managing needs-packaging bug reports specification, https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/Specs/NeedsPackagingBugs, all needs-packaging bug reports have Wishlist importance. Subsequently, I'm setting this bug's status to Wishlist.

I looked through the Debian repositories yesterday for a package based on 0.16.0 or later and didn't find one (a year after Mattia Rizzolo made his inquiry of the maintainer).

Out of curiosity, I did dl the latest released source (0.16.2) from the piklab project on Sourceforge, and it does compile on Kubuntu 12.04. Seems to run, too, but I haven't tested it extensively at all. Unfortunately, I know absolutely zero about packaging an application.

I pinged the ex-debian maintainer a year ago, but I don't received any answer.
Now I've just opened a Debian bug and re-email the maintainer.

For reference: piklab is available in squeeze (old-stable now) http://packages.debian.org/source/oldstable/piklab where KDE 3 is available, and was removed from unstable 2011/03/17 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=618600)

I edited the description to reflect the fact that the website for the project, piklab.org, is gone and the domain is for sale.
