Bug Description

There is a plan to use cilium cross architecture, and with that also on s390x, esp. in the context of the upcoming Canonical kubernetes product (C-k8s).

Cilium is build and supported upstream for some architectures, like amd64 and arm64:
https://docs.cilium.io/en/stable/operations/system_requirements/#admin-system-reqs
and we see an increase in popularity.
https://canonical.com/blog/try-canonical-kubernetes-beta

Hence the ask to get it ideally ported to s390x as well.

The further non-architecture requirements are given for s390x, like:
Linux kernel >= 4.19.57
eBPF
clang+LLVM >= 10.0

Porting a new package to Z is usually a bit bigger effort. Please bring this up with product management to see whether we want to invest into this. Thanks!

Just as a side note (from a parallel discussion):

The Operator, CNI plugin and Agent are used in C-k8s.
(Since with C-k8s we deploy the operator, and the operator takes care of deploying what is needed - it deploys the CNI plugin and the Agent.)
