Please attach a full build log, if you can.

I will schedule a rebuild of this package, to see if I can reproduce the issue on our infrastructure.

I did a rebuild of it. It is "successful" but, it does smell very fishy... given the number of times it tries to use -mtune options for like arm or sparc.

However, I do not have the error messages that are reported in the description of the bug report, and the two mentioned libraries do get built and are shipped.

Please provide the full build log.

Sorry for the late response.
I did a apt-get source atlas and build via DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=custom dpkg-buildpackage -uc -b as described in the README.Debian
I found logfiles in ~/atlas-3.10.3/build/bin/INSTALL_LOG
I ran on a z14 system

DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=custom builds are not supported, and one has to investigate manually why tuning to a custom current build-time machine fails.

Also DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=custom packages are not suitable to be shipped in the Ubuntu archive, as they do not gain unique arch qualified names to be coinstallable with stock packages.
