Bug Description

Installation initiated from the HMC using 'Recovery --> Reload from Removable Media or Server' to select the FTP server and installer. The menu selection 'Daily --> Operating system messages' is then used to drive the installation until prompted to log in over ssh to complete the installation.

Most often the window opened from 'Daily --> Operating system messages' will not re-fresh after the message 'Generating SSH host key' is displayed; although I've seem it happen at other times as well. The user does not know input for the next question is being requested. Any characters enter will be accepted as the input, which may not be the intended input.

This seem to happen now again more often.
Is it required to hit the "Send" button in HMC's Operating Systems Messages or can one also just hit Enter/Return after a cmd was specified?
This seems to happen more often in case just Enter/Return was used instead of "Send" clicked.
@IBM: Will you have a look at this again? (setting to Incomplete until receiving a answer)

This still happens sporadically.
We faced it a couple of times during focal testing of d-i (with now got replaced by subiquity).
Especially when d-i asks to enter a installation password it's often the case that OS Messages doesn't refresh. Interestingly one can type blindly and hit enter and the installation proceeds - hence another indicator that it's most likely a refresh issue.

With subiquity the installation is done either via the Integrated ASCII console or with via an ssh shell - hence one will not face this using subiquity.

In general it is required to hit the "Send" button in HMC's Operating Systems Messages to issue a command. Regarding the refresh concern we will have to get the responsible developer(s) from the IBM Z Firmware team to investigate and comment.
