PO translation

The translation is not in PO's so it's more difficult to translate

I know you are right but all the text is XML based, so doing this will take a lot of time (I think, added to the TODO list)

you could use xml2po, a tool that extracts translatable content into po files.

Have you considered using doctemplate to structure the project and support localization (text and images)?

It creates localized outputs of these types:
html (two versions)
docbook
pdf
epub

With a single command.

Install doctemplate from this ppa:
https://edge.launchpad.net/~doctemplate-team/+archive/ppa

Create a project with "doctemplate_setup_article"

Assumes docbook source format.

xml2po doesn't serve our purposes here. going to test doctemplate.

ok, i was able to extract string from XML files with po4a, so, what's the next step? ideas?

Never mind. On the next update to the branch, Launchpad translations will be available. But don't translate now, we have to define content first, waiting a little for Ubuntu Manual here.

Other contents may be added on blueprints.

Pages migrated to mako, so all sentences are currently handled trough gettext. Marking as triaged until the translations are ready to be uploaded.
