Bug Description

The download icon visible on the submit button at http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download or directly located at http://www.ubuntu.com/themes/ubuntu07/images/button-download.png is identical in design to the icon that is used throughout CNet's Download.com: ( http://i.d.com.com/i/dl/products/icon_download_product_large.gif ), ( http://blogs.download.com/Daily-Download/ ), (http://www.download.com/OpenOffice-org/3000-2064_4-10616855.html ) .

As stated in CNet's terms of use ( http://www.cnetnetworks.com/editorial/terms.html?tag=ft ), any images/logos, and derivative works, on their member websites are protected by their copyrights.

The Graphic designer has stated that he feels this is not an issue. I am going to need to ask for additional assistance on the subject but am leaning towards creating a new icon.

It's certainly an issue if the image was designed by CNet - it would attract copyright. What reasoning did the graphic designer give?

The image is now no longer used on the download page. Thanks for the report.
