Bug Description

On the Ubuntu download page(s), there isn't any link to the hash file that users can use to check the integrity of the image they are downloading. Could one be provided please?

That's `<dirname of .iso file>/SHA256SUMS' (for example http://releases.ubuntu.com/trusty/SHA256SUMS)

This is related to bug #1534967. Probably before fixing this you'd at least want to make the *SUMS available over https.
