Bug Description

I would love to see "Music" updated to include the ability to "scrobble" the currently-playing track to Libre.fm (the Open Source equivalent of Last.fm)...

As I understand it, Libre.fm has an API, so I'm sure someone with the necessary skills could accomplish such a task.

Hi Gregory, thanks for taking the time to help make the Music app and Ubuntu better! The ability to scrobble to Last.fm and/or Libre.fm has been on our list of features to add for some time now. We don't have an ETA for when such a feature will arrive, but it is something we'd need to have the Design define.

Changed in music-app:

importance: Undecided → Low

Thanks for the info, Victor!

I realize that there are far more important things to work on, so it's not really an issue if we have to wait, but at least at it's good to know that others out there have similar ideas for "Music"...

As we had a duplicate bug for adding support for last.fm scrobbling, I'm going to turn this into a bug tracking scrobbling ability.

summary: - Scrobbling to Libre.fm
+ Allow for scrobbling to various services in the music-app
