Bug Description
Ubuntu 14.10 (r22)
(Don't know how to find a package version :/, but I checked for updates on 29-05-2015 and all apps are up to date)
I have two SIM cards inserted into BQ Aquaris 4.5
On incoming call I expect to see information if SIM1 or SIM2 was dialled by caller alongside caller ID.
I see only caller ID.
It may be useful if one of the SIM cards is in roaming, or when one of the SIMs is a company number while other is a private number.
------------ UX comment -----------
The SIM card indication should replace the "Incoming call" text. This applies only for dual SIM devices. On a single SIM device the "Incoming call" labe remains. Please see attached wireframe for the exact solution.

The same here,
when it is ringing there is no display if the call comes from sim 1 or sim 2.
Only if you take the telephone call then it is displayed which sim is used.
But then it is too late.

I filed a similar bug against dialer-app the other day before I saw this one:
https:/
In that bug I added two more fr's that I believe also to be useful in this context. those additions are:
:
1) in the "recent calls" panel of the dialer-app, each missed/incoming call should show to which of the two sims a call was made. When this is realised, it should then by default select that same sim to call back in the dialer panel when that phone number is selected from missed calls.
2) Also useful would be to have a UI where a user could add an alias to each sim, which would then be used in the dialer-app (or even system-wide) to replace "sim 1" and "sim 2".

I would think we should add a label in the incoming call notification.
Currently it says:
"<Contact Name>
Calling from <phone number>"
If multi sim's detected, it should say:
"<ContactName>
Calling from <phone number> on <Sim Label>"
regarding comment #3
1) the recents call does show what sim the call was received on, have to left swipe and press "i" button
2) you can already edit the sim label to your liking. Go to System Settings-> Cellular -> Edit SIM Name

Please find desired solution in attachment. The SIM indication should be inline with the "Incoming call" text.
Marking as Fix Commited.

Thanks Olga,
Just wanted to remind that "SIM 1" can be any text defined by the user in system-settings. Should we still go ahead and keep this solution?
We also need wireframes for missed call entries displayed in the indicator.
| Olga Kemmet (olga-kemmet) wrote : | #7 |
@tiagosh: Yes, I am aware of that. :)
One other solution I thought about was to remove "Incoming call" and simply replace it with "SIM1" or whatever label user is choosing. This would only apply to dual SIM devices though. For a single SIM device the initial "Incoming call" text should remain on the incoming call snap.

I reproduce it with Vegeta in OTA-9 and krillin in rc246. I'll provide video and logs next week.
Here are the steps and some screenshots about the bug:
Steps to repro:
1º Create and save two contacts, one on each SIM (screenshots 1 & 2) with an Android device.
2º Then I put both SIM cards in krillin with OTA-9 installed.
3º Receive a call from those contacts before import them from SIM (I wanted to try) both appear as unknown caller and with SIM 1 label.
4º Import both contacts from their SIM cards
5º Repeat the calls from both contacts and check that SIM 1 label appear for both contacts (screenshots 3&4)
6º Delete both contacts and repeat the calls (screenshots 1.2 & 2.2) like step 3º.

The SIM information on the incoming call screen is about the sim card that's receiving the call from that contact, and not the sim card where that contact was originally stored.
Thanks @tiagosh...sorry my mistake

Status changed to 'Confirmed' because the bug affects multiple users.
