Bug Description

1. Open Scopes scope
2. Select scope
3. Open result from surfacing or from search, such that Preview will contain a button launching a browser
4. Press the button in the Preview
5. Browser launches
6. Swipe the browser away to right.

What happens:
Dash 'Apps' section is shown.

What I expect to happen:
Dash should show the scope result preview I was viewing. Otherwise I need to navigate back, search again, and possibly loose bandwidth and patience.

------------------------------
Desired resolution:

See https://sites.google.com/a/canonical.com/unity8dash/navigating-the-dash

Once the Dash is released as an app, the user can return to the previous state of the Dash using the right edge interactions. They can also tap on the Home button. A long left swipe will take them back to the 'Home scope' ie apps scope.

That's the current design, adding ubuntu-ux to give a (potentially revised) opinion.

Can we have someone from Ubuntu UX team have a look at this :)? Do they get bug mail?

From the current spec. I think this issue is described in #3. I'm not convinced this is the right behaviour thought exactly because of the use case described above. But I do think we need a way for the user to get back to their home page though (in this case Apps). So we should try to support both. Even if that's sequentially. It does seem that the behaviour of long swiping from the left edge isn't explicitly described either. I'll look into it.

Managing state in the dash

1. State when left/right swiping through favourites
When the user swipes left/right between favourite scopes, each should maintain it’s previous state.

2. State when returning to the dash via right edge
When the user returns to the dash via the right edge the dash should maintain state, allowing the user to pick up from their previous context.

3. State when returning to the dash via launcher icon
When the user returns to the dash by pressing the dash icon on the launcher, the dash should take them to the Apps scope

This gives the user a consistent way to return to a ‘Home’ state in order to start a new task.
