Bug Description

There is no way to simply close an application directly from within the app. Instead, I must swipe to get back to the dash, and then long-press on the running app, and then tap on it, to kill it. This is very tedious, error prone, and feels unnatural.

It is very easy to lift one's finger too early, and simply be met with the launcher staying on top of everything instead.

When you do swipe and get back to the dash, it immediately switches to the apps scope, and scrolls all the way to the top, losing any positioning it was left at, meaning one will have to go search again for their place, if the user was browsing through a scope's results for example.

And then, a long press on the running app itself is error prone, as the slightest slip of one's finger in any direction will interrupt the long press wait, and scroll the dash instead, as it is a flickable object. This means it can take many tries to successfully long press on the item.

Once the long press is completed, the red close button icon pops up on top of all running applications. This makes closing a single application, and then switching to another specific application, very problematic and difficult to do, when there are several applications running. Even with only one other application running it is problematic, as the user must think to swipe from the right edge, rather than pressing on the running app sitting right in front of them, and which is more immediately accessible, as pressing on it will instead kill the app. This problem is exacerbated by the automatic scrolling once returning to the dash, and the lack of in-app sessions (meaning that once an app is killed, any state of the currently running app is also generally lost).

This is made a little worse in the latest Unity 8 on Ubuntu Touch. It now retains position if you opened an application from within a preview in the dash, so swiping the app away to be able to close it in the dash, now takes you back to the preview, which you must then close, and then scroll to the "Recent Apps" to be able to close the application.
