Bug Description
Recently while working with the SDK I have discovered that the app design guidelines don't provide guidance for cases where you need quick access to functionality (traditionally delivered with a toolbar) with 5+ items.
Currently the guidelines recommend developers use the swipe-up toolbar to put up to 5 items in there, but some applications require additional quick access functions.
As one such example, I was writing a text editor and I need to provide quick access to:
* Bold
* Italic
* Underline
* Left Align
* Center Align
* Right Align
Now, I appreciate that within our convergence goals a conventional toolbar would not work well on a phone, and we likely recommend the HUD for those cases, but if I am regularly using a function in an application in a location where I can't provide voice input (or I am a user who cannot speak), repeatedly typing in the same function over and over again is going to get repetative.
Can the design team provide some guidelines around this in the app design guidelines?
Apologies if I filed this against the wrong project - not sure where this bug should be.

I would say this is "fixed" now, see Dani's blogpost: http:// design. canonical. com/2014/ 03/new- apps-header/
