Bug Description

1. Downloaded latest version from original website.
2. Installed version on computer => OK (Full installation , old version deleted)
3. Try to change the loginscreen from the computer => Doesn't work!

You can select easy an new screen into Ubuntu Tweak, with no problems, but when you restart or just logoff , the original screen still keeps active from 12.04 LTS.
When I look back to Tweak, it shows me the selected picture?

Maybe something wrong with mine computer settings or Tweak did not changed at all???

Thanx & best regards,
Frederik

Note:

It seems that I couldn't change it, because the selected picture is not standing in the followed directory:

/usr/share/backgrounds/.....

Can this be fixed, that a selected file from other directory will be placed into the directory above? Then problem looks to be solved.

Thanx & best regards,
Frederik

I guess you encrypt your home folder, right?

Helllo,

Nope mine home folder is not encrypted i think! It is the normal installation I did do from UBUNTU. I did some days the upgrade from LTS 11.x to LTS12.04.
Nothing is special encrypted on this computer!

I could only change it, when I was copy the actual picture I wanted to /usr/share/backgrounds/ with the sudo command option at console bash.

Best Regards,
Frederik

I tried to reproduce this bug, If I choose an picture in my home folder, it works for me.

Could you confirm your picture files permission? I wonder the permission can be read by current user only.

If the path is ~/background.jpg, try to get the permission file by "ls -l ~/background.jpg"

Seems the permission is OK.

I don't know why, please first copy your background file to /usr/share/backgrounds to work around.
