Bug Description

I have installed mail-notification manually because it has enabled the ssl feature, the repository version doesn't have ssl enabled.

when ever I want to update it always want to update mail-notification, is there a way to lock this version so it doesn't update?

In synaptic I have this version locked.

I hope this will become a feature in future releases.

I think this is the same as the bug I reported (https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/792715). Though that bug was rejected, I respectfully disagree. The only update manager which offers to install the pinned app is UT.

Please see the following comments which explain why I believe this is a bug and should be fixed:

1. all other update managers respect the lock - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-tweak/+bug/792715/comments/4
2. If UT update manager is actually using Synaptic then it should respect the lock - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-tweak/+bug/792715/comments/5
