2010-09-05 15:36:17 David Planella bug task added language-selector (Ubuntu)
2010-09-05 15:42:09 David Planella description Binary package hint: ubiquity After performing an installation in a locale without language pack on the Live CD, after installation I ended up with an English system. No language packs were downloaded during the install, and neither the missing language support warning was shown. Here are the relevant settings: * Language selected: Catalan (ca_ES.UTF-8, language pack not included in the Live CD) * Chosen to download updates during install I've seen this happening some other times when a mirror fails, but if that was the case, we should show a warning note telling the user that language packs could not be downloaded due to an error, or at least show the notification about missing language support (I'll reopen bug 527623 for that). I've also noticed that after installation language selector is unable to install the language packs, so I'm adding a task for it as well. TEST CASE: 1. After installation, start gnome-language-selector (System > Administration > Language Support) 2. The "The language support is not installed completely" dialog is shown 3. Click on Install 4. A password prompt appears. Introduce your password there 5. Nothing happens. No language packs are installed.
