I don't know why it's not working.

I built the package locally, and noticed this line in the log:

make[1]: 'gnome-software.pot' is up to date.

So there seems to be a need to update the translation template somehow.

Yes, but it would probably not be so meaningful, because if it's not fixed in the package, the incomplete template would be there again next time the package is built.

I think and hope so. Probably it's trivial - if you know how - to make some adjustment in the package so an updated template is uploaded next time the package is built.

Maybe some patch for the source deb file? Anyway, this should be done by the package maintainer.

I started looking at that issue a few days ago and it seems to be a problem with the build system changes done upstream, I reported https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=785134 on gnome-software and I'm looking at a workaround now

It looks like that the translation is still missing when using the latest GNOME Software from artful-proposed even though the string is now available to translate via Launchpad.
