alt-tab no longer works

Binary package hint: metacity

Alt+Tab doesn't work. The Alt is getting ignored. If I switch to compiz it works fine. I can switch back and forth between compiz and metacity and it works in compiz every time and doesn't work in metactity every time..

Video shows what happens if I alt-tab - I basically get tabs.

works fine here, are you still facing this issue Alan? could you try the same with another new user created on your system? Thanks.

I am experiencing the same problem; with another user, Alt+Tab works correctly.
Which configuration can be broken?

Solution:
gconftool -u /apps/metacity/global_keybindings/switch_windows

It will switch it from "disabled" to its default state "Alt-Tab"
