Bug Description

I downloaded http://goo.im/devs/jholtom/ubuntu-touch-tf101.zip and http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-touch-preview/daily-preinstalled/current/quantal-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip.
I flashed the ubuntu-touch-tf101.zip and then the quantal-preinstalled-phablet-armhf.zip files to my Asus TF101, but after reboot I only got a black screen.
Tried twice, cancelling cache and wiping data, but it just gives me a black screen after reboot.

Same problem here. Just a black screen...

I thought I'd chime in too in the event that something I submit helps.

I've installed 3 different versions of Clockworkrecovery mod (5.0.2.0, 6.1.0.0 and 6.0.2.0) and tried to flash Ubuntu Touch (build 0.5) as per the instructions on both the Ubuntu wiki page and the ones on XDA developers.

Tried flashing with: wipe data > cache > dalvik > install base > clear cache > install phablet > clear cache > reboot; still doesn't work.

My backlight comes on, I can adb to the tablet and communicate, but I am not 100% sure on how to get logging from it (if someone can explain, I can post logs). I can press the power button to get the backlight to go off and on.

The HDMI port works, but does the same as the tablet screen (backlight goes on and off depending on if I hit the power button on the tablet).

Tried with the dock connected and disconnected. Same results. Tried different MicroSDHC cards and this didn't make any difference either.

Even I'm observing the same Issue.
Flashing is successful. But only black screen is displayed.
Even after multiple reboots same behaviour is observed.

if ya'll can get me a logcat by running something along the lines of
adb logcat > logcat.log and then posting the logcat.log file somewhere along with
adb shell; in the shell run dmesg > dmesg.log and then post that file after adb pulling it.

Same Issue is observed in ubuntu-touch-tf101 (version 0.1) also.
Attached logs for both 0.1 and 0.6 versions.

I'm having the same problem here. Flashed with the newest images as of today, after wiping data. My logs are similar to Carla Sella's.

Just wonder if there might be an API/version mismatch between the ubuntuappmanager and hybris that are built on the android side.

jholtom, can you grab the bzr revision from yours <androidbuildroot>/ubuntu/hybris and <androidbuildroot>/ubuntu/platform-api?

I tried using the old ubuntu-tablet-tf101.zip images (0.1, 0.2, 0.4, and 0.5), with the same results. Also got the same results with today's build of phablet and the current tf101 image (0.6).

Build Server is coming online now, and i'm going to try to rebuild this again with some changes that hopefully will fix it. e.g. update the ubuntu source tree.

I just build the image with the git repos available from the wiki, + latest from phablet and latest from the bzr branches (platform-api and libhybris), and was able to get to a working shell again.

Please make sure you have the latest of everything and it just work just fine :-)

Same for my SL101 which should be the same.
I used version 0.7 of ubuntu-touch and the daily link above from half an hour ago.
I also get a black screen on boot.

Determined problem is not related to our image ATM. Due to NEON added to the daily images.

Do you know which app might be using neon by default? I was able to get it working here after building the image myself. Will try another respin today with our current image to see if it works better.

In theory Ubuntu should not ship any neon-code enabled by default.

Not 100% sure, but we think it is NEON but on the xda thread onkelbebu says differently. but for whatever reason this is the error. Libhybris, and platform-api are latest along with all other repo parts.
The error is: E/linker ( 219): ics/linker.c:1598| WARNING: Skipping libc.so

Also, the HDMI port works, it doesn't output 1080p, only the same resolution as the Transformer Pad's.
